..and what makes Mobil1, garbage? I understand that it's your opinion, but makes you say that?

I was just being funny about the meijer oil comment. Mobil 1 is fine, but its not a true synthetic oil and I think its hyped up way too much,also over priced in that case.

Its not expensive, you just gotta know how to buy it.
Buy it at cost through work, if you work in automotive.
I get my oil for $1.50 a quart.

 

holy crap. $1.50. Thats insane for mobile 1. I think i usually pay like $5/quart. It usually turns into about a $45 oil change

The friend of mine selling the talon sells it to me at O'Reilly for that cheap.

mobil 1 is a full synthetic
if you must have synthetic in your car my opinion is eithe mobil1 or castrol syntec, walmart has nice 5qt jugs for like $20
no sense in buying $8+/qt fancy brands like redline/royal purple
not even necessary to use synthetic if you change your oil often. all oil breaks down over time, thats what wears out your parts. Only advantage i see using synthetic over conventional is to squeeze out an extra 1hp or if your manual calls for it. that being said my car manual calls out for $13/qt castrol 10w60 TWS motorsport
