Default 420a for evo vIII

well i searched around alot on many forums and cant seem to find what im looking for.. i have a 420a with blown piston and rod. now i was looking at rebuilding but to get the mods i want and the labor its gonna cost around 3000 with no turbo... soo i was wondering what would be involved if i wanted to swap a evo 8 engine into the 96 rs. i know the timing belt is on the same side but lol thats all i know can some one sine sime light on the subject thanks

youve searched and you havent found this. Then you didnt look in the right places. Its everywhere. Basically you cant do it. Alot of fabrication work would have to be done and you would need some other parts just to get the mounts to fit right. So it would be more than rebuilding the current block

just take our word for it, it's not worth the time or money. everything is backwards on the 2 engines and everthing to place it in there has to be custom fabricated. if you want an evo motor in an eclipse, get a GST or GSX

actually you cant even put the evo motor in the GST or GSX without a bunch of work.

thought the evoVIII motor was the 4g63??? which is why i said to just get a GSt or GSX b/c it's the same motor, i didn't mean to do an engine swap after he got it, thought the motor was already in there....

oh yea they both have the 4g63 but the difference is in the way they are positioned in the engine bay.
