6 or 7 bolt?

It refers to the number of bolts that attach the flywheel.
The 7 bolt has a problem that is called 'crankwalk' its not massivly common but it destroys the engine. Some 7 bolts never experiance it.. and some do. There is no way of telling.
The 6 bolts are a little stronger.. and dont get crankwalk. But it is expensive to swap the 6 bolt into a 7 bolt car... like... 3000 expensive.. not including the cost of the engine.

RE: 6 or 7 bolt?
dude you are out of your tree sebba. It is NOT $3k to swap the 6 bolt in. and if a spun bearing is not biggy to you then have fun. it will trash everything else if it keeps being run you know that. crank walks it is going to spin bearings go figure right.a couple huh? lets go search just our site how many 7 bolts got swapped out for spun bearings or otherwise and how many 6 bolts have?? this site alone has about 5 members in a year pulling 7 bolts out. That is what crankwalk does. you spin bearings and sometime worse common sense right?
I agree keeping in a 7 bolt is sort of worth it only if you daily driving the car and not going mod happy EVER but if you want fast you want a 6 bolt plain an simple
sebba you are bringing youself down a notch In my book your logic is just freaking retarded.

What? Come on man.
The SBR swap kit is 3k.
Well, thats your opinion, and you know more than me so i am in no position to dissagree with you.
I guess you are right then. Counting the crankwalk cases + the amount of spun bearings i guess it does amount to a lot.
EDIT: Damnit... the swap kit is 2k. But thats still a LOT

SBR is a built motor. John is selling his 6 bolt is $100 rebuild that how you want and if you keep it stock bottem end that will come to a total of what $1000? If you build it up no matter if its a 6 ot 7 bolt your looking at $3k
