Ok im not sure bout what model Eclipse's are what. i know the Gs comes w/the 2.0 dohc,and the Gsx is awd/turbo but im wondering is the front wheel drive turbo eclipse any good,i mean is it worth buying.and if its in good shape whats the amount of cash would u slap down for one ? and is the model a Gst ? and which model is a better choice between 90-93 and 95-99 ?thanks

 

get a gsx. gst is the fwdturbo its a good car but awd is just so much better. i would buy a 2g 95-99 i just think they look so much better, i have a 2g and a 1g. the motors are stronger in the 1g but, you can build a 2g just as well.

 

he model is GS-T and i my opion they are good car to have. the differance between a gsx and gs-t is the AWD. i love the bdoy style of the 95-99 but from wat i have seen and heard the 90-93 can be faster.

 

From what I understand the GSX is the preferred choice over the GS-T because of the traction available on a quick launch, but in prepared track conditions the GS-T is faster and will out perform a GSX. This is because the GSX needs to drive the extra parts which virtually would only slow it down. In rough street racing conditions, a GSX will get the wholeshot allmost always. And the Models range from RS (Ralley Sport ~ stripped down model), GS (Grand Sport ~ Most extra options included with ground effects that are absent on the RS in the 2nd gen), GS-T (Everthing the GS has with a turbo intercooled engine and stiffer suspension), and GSX (GS-T with All Wheel Drive and often a power drivers seat and always leather I believe). I own a 98 GS-T. I prefer the styling of the 95-99 much more over the 90-93. And more particullarly, the nose and rear bumper change a bit from 96-97 and I preffer the 97-99 styling the most.

 

Get a gst or gsx. Gsx is better tho, b/c the awd. The diff between the rs/gs and gst/gsx plays and important role in the 2g eclipse. The gst/gsx has the 4g63 motor from japan which is way better than the rs/gs 420a from chrysler. it still isnt that bad of a motor. i own an rs and w/o a turbo i broke into the 15s. so that aint bad with only 200 hp. so if you are gonna throw down money on a car, invest in a 97-99 eclipse gsx.

 

id say get 90-94 if youre on a budget but want something that has the potential to be crazy fast
get 95-99 if you can spend a little more and get something that looks nicer. obviously 1gens are the fastest dsms out there and they are a little lighter as well, but its just as easy to get a 2gen into the 11's for example. get awd if you want insane grip while launching and wana get some great quarter mile times. get a gst if you wana trap high and like freeway racing.
