Default 93 Eclipse GS Surging

Hello Everyone! PLEASE be kind to me. I am a woman who does not know mechanical terms but I will give it a shot. I have the above car. I love my car but....it is starting to surge when first started after sitting overnight. It sounds like someone putting their foot on and off the gas and it continues to surge for maybe 1/2 a mile or so or until the engine gets warm. I have put a lot of money into this car due to stupidity on my part and before something else happens I want to get an idea what is happening. I don't have anyone to help me so I am hoping that I could find out what it might be before I take it to a repair shop.Any help/suggestions would be appreciated!

Welcome to the forum, we'll be happy to help you out. It sounds like your IAC is having some trouble. The IAC stands for Idle Air Controller. A few of our other members are having this same problem in their cars.Since you don't know all that much about this stuff, your best move is to take it to a mechanic. If the problem corrects itself after a few minutes, it's not all that bad. Just let your car warm up before driving it to prevent any kind of damage. It shouldn't cause any problems or further damage, but you can never be to safe.
