Default 95 eclipse front rotors

I just got a 95 eclipse thats in need of a brake changes (pads and rotors) getting the pads and calipers off is easy but i cant get the rotors off. Do i need a special tool or is it just my car?

yup the special tool is a sledge hammer....literally. Those rotors will seize themselves to the hub. You may even need to buy some rust eater (PB Blaster) or even a blowtorch to heat it up. But it may take alot of hammering to break it loose. Usually i just have one person turn the tire on the other side to have the rotor turn and then the other person just keep hammering the rotor

No offence but my car has been hurt enough from the last idiot who owned it, it doesnt need me breaking more on it. Sum guy mentioned a hammer-puller, but there expensive and i need a way to get the same result

i am totally serious about the hammer to the rotor. You are dumping the rotors anyway so nicking them is not gonna be a problem. That is the easiest way to break them loose. Go ahead and read around online, everyone will say take either a rubber mallet or if that isnt enough persuasion then a metal hammer. The only thing it will damage is the rotor. (that you are trashing. Like i said, PB blaster works wonders as well

so after buyin the haynes manual, talkin to mechanics etc, i found the actual solution. there r extra slots on the rotor, insert bolt, tighten til it pops off. But when its rusted to death like in the car i bought, it came down to a hammer, so thanks lol
