Default 95 eclipse gs drinks gas like a V8

hey guys, I'm looking for a little wisdom here. I hace a 95 gs and I just got a new used engine put in there and some dc sport headers to replace the old, rusted stock piping there. My car seems to smoke more and more out of the exhaust pipe and fuel economy is non existant. The sensor that goes into the intake is missing so I have to get a new one. I'm figuring that might be why its running so rich. Am I close to being right? I'm getting an AEM V2 cold air intake in a week or 2 but I wan the sensor to go with it. I've tried the junk yards around me but a 95 eclipse is rare out here in atlanta junk yards. I did find a 91 and a 92 so the real question is can I use the sensors off of those models?

Yea its the Mass Air Flow Sensor you def need that not sure if the other are compatible with your 95. Its running so rich because the car does know how much air is getting sucked in through the intake.
