Hey guys-

My cousin just picked up a 95 Gst 5 speed, but the turbo is not spooling. The car runs normal other thank that, but he doesnt know whats up. I told him that the turbo is 13 yrs old so what do you expect. Thought id ask you guys though.

well, it might be due to a gigantic boost leak. does he have a boost gauge other than the stock one on it? and any upgrades like ic piping or ic?

 

oh ya and is there any kind of smoke coming out the back of the exhaust once it's warmed up?

 

He only hs the stock boost gauge, and no piping etc,

then it sounds like a gigantic boost leak to me,hmmm that's really weird bro' and it drives normal otherwise? check to see if all the ic pipings are on correctly

ha,.......well there's many places, from a crackes ic hose, or coupling, the throttlebody seals, intercooler,..... the easiest way to find a boost leak is to buy a boost leak tester for 30 bucks online, that'll tell you within seconds where the leak is. that's all i can think it could be, i'll think about it some more tho'

 

The stock boost gauge doesnt tell you **** so dont even worry about that.

Its not a gigantic boost leak because the car wouldnt idle if that was the case.

What are the modifications?
