'95 GSX good or bad?
hey guys, new to the site and am in need of help. I know this guy that wants to sell his '95 GSX, AWD, turbo, leather, moonroof, loaded car for $5000, with 110K miles on it. The engine was rebuilt 20,000 miles ago because the timing belt broke and did some damage. He says that the tranny is still good and that he has replaced the brakes and tires and they are decent. Is this car problematic? The next time the timing belt brakes will the engine have to be rebuilt again? Is this car worth going and checking out? Any help is good help.

It sounds good to me. But just like every used car you by have a machanic look at it. About the timeing belt if you do regular maintaince you won't run into a problem w/ the belt just replace it every 60k miles and if you are really worried about it inspect it every oil change.

I WOULD DEFINATELY replace the timing belts a little early if i were you mine just snappe with only 45,000 miles on them approx. and it cost me $2,000 to fix the engine, i had 8 bent valves, and a whole bunch of other stuff that went wrong...

hmmmm 95gsx......rebuild engine, I would be more curious as to why he needed the rebuild. Make sure its not because of crankwalk, and if it is, rebuilding the same engine, its very likely to come back.
