Default 95 tsi engine swap

hey all... I have a 95 Eagle Talon Tsi (AWD Turbo 2.0L)...
My transmission is toasted, and I was looking around for a replacement. I found a jdm transmission for $650, with shipping incl. It's got 25-30K miles on it... Good Deal???
After I got to browsing, I became curious... Does anyone know what the most feasable engine swaps for my car are? (better than what I have, yet not too much extra money or head scratching) I was never really too into my car since it was automatic, but now I'm kind of curious as to what the hell I can do with it...

Any info is greatly appreciated!

Well no matter WHAT engine you swap into it you'll need to change the wiring harness and ECU. Those are a given. as to what all will fit I don't know I'll let others more knowledgable in the swap area answer what will fit. Depending on the engine will depend on what else you will have to change.

JDM=Japanese Domestic Market. DSM= Diamond Star Motors. The japanese trans is just saying that the car was in japan instead of america. DSM is the company that makes the Mitsus

Why swap your motor? For less money it can be alot faster. Go to machv.com and read up in their performance guide area, for about 2g your can can be quick as hell where a new motor will be about two times that amount.

Yeah essentially your trans was shipped to america instead of Japan. Basically BOTH are DSM one is JDM the JDMs are a sought after part because they have low miles due to the fact that the Japanese are only allowed to keep a car below 40K miles (I think it's 40K it's some rediculously low mileage).

I guess they go to jail if they hit 50k.
