Default '96 with a NEW heart

About 2 weeks ago I had a problem with my '96 RS - 420a motor. It overheated twice when driven in extreme heat conditions. It lost all of it's radiator fluids on two occasions. (No leaks under the car.) Had tobe internal, but not sure where. The odometer on the car reads 143,000, and smoked when idiling. While taking thecar to a reputable mechanic, it seemed that the car didn't have any power. As you would accellerate, the car would feel like it was loosing power - like it was missing. The mechanic called and told me that the motor was worn out - which I already knew, and that the cat systemwas needing replaced - hence the no power. Allis being replaced. I can't wait to get mycar back this week.

OMG!!! Are you serious. Why didnt you ask us before hand. All you had wrong was a blown head gasket that doesnt require a new engine. How much is he charging you? there is something wrong here.

and he told you the no power was from the cat system. What a liar. Obviously youll have no power with a blown headgasket. You are leaking compression

Prior to having the overheating problems, my check engine light was on. Heck, it was one when I bought the car. When I took it to be inspected (Collin Co), the inspection place wouldn't inspect it due to the engine light being on. I called the guy that I bought the car from. He told me to take it to his mechanic, and he would fix it, and inspect it. So I did. When I picked up the car, the mechanic told me that he tricked the on board computer to think it was a '95, and not a '96. But not to tell anyone cause he could get into trouble. About 3 miles away the check engine light came back on. I laughed and said right..... The guy just inspected the car, and unhooked the battery terminal and reset the check engine light. Hmmm... a little honesty there, yeah right. So I moved back to East Texas, and drovethecar. Every mechanic I took it to didn't know why the check engine light was on.One day while driving to work, it started missing really bad.It got so bad that it quit, and wouldn't start. It was towed to a mechanics shop. They said it was the o2 sensors. Both sensors were replaced, the check engine light reset. The car ran fine for about 7 months. As winter came upon me, I told myself that I wasn't going through winter without any heater. Yes, my first winter owning the car, I didn't have heat.So I went to buy a thermostat for a '96 Eclipse - 420a. Little did I know that the thermosat I bought wasn't the right one. Yes, it was the right one for an Eclipse, but not for a Neon. Seems like the previous owner, or owners replaced the engine in the car. That was nice to know. So I returned the Eclipse thermostat, and bought the Neon theromstat. Fit like a glove. The Eclipse thermostat is much bigger than the Neon. Same dang motor though. Other than the car smoking really bad, the car ran fine through winter, spring, and summer.Sometime in the first part of September it started overheating, and loosing all of its coolant. Once again no signs of leakage under the car. Had to be internal. The check engine would flash as you would accellerate. The car would sputter and spatter while accellerating. So I took it to a reputable builder. They hooked it to the computer. It gave about (6) codes. One of which was the cat system. The motor was worn out. It was time for a replacement.

Dude... learn grammar.

Either from over heating all the time you lost compression...or the head gasket caused you to lose compression.
