Default 96 Spyder GS rear brakes

Hey, guys. I'm new here. I just purchased a 97(an early model...it's technically a 96) spyder gs. I'm no mechanic, but I'm wanting to learn how to do some of the basic maitenance myself.

I had a friend show me how to change the front brakes last weekend. We were going to to the rear drums, but we couldn't figure out how to get the drum off. He didn't want to break anything...and we didn't have a rubber hammer, so we figured it best to leave it alone until I got a manual or some good information.

Do I need to take a chisel to it and pry it off, or is there another trick to it? If anybody has a writeup or a link, I would really appreciate it. I tried searching the forum and google, but it was to no avail.

Thanks in advance for any advice
Peace,
John
