Default 97 spyder Overdrive is out?

I just bought a 97 Gs spyder trans works fine unless you have the overdrive on then you can hear it slip on the highway you can get it to work a little. I drove it for a little bit like that then the Check engine light came on. thanks

the end clutch has failed.
it can be repaired/replaced without trans removal.
