Default 99 Clipse Gasket Question

I have a 99 Clipse GS with the 420a motor. I have a oil leak in the far left spark plug chamber have replaced the gaskets twice with stock gaskets and after about 2 months i end up with the same leak. Any idea of a better gasket i could use that wont dissolve so quickly. i have read that some aluminum gaskets are a lot better replacement but i dont know of a good company that makes these gaskets. any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

have you changed the all the gaskets that go in the valve cover. These gaskets are call "Valve kit Gaskets".. Cause that is what I changed when I had that same problem..

Did you just set the spark plug gaskets on the tubes or did you push it down with a little force?
There aren't that many places (if any) that make a beefier SPTS, it's just not needed. There could also be an issue with the valve cover if this is a reoccuring issue. An aluminum spark plug tube seal just isn't feasible since the seal just sits on the tube and seals it with only slight pressure from the valve cover, that's normally all it needs. You may want to look at the crankcase pressure too, perhaps change your pcv valve if you haven't already.

Oh and welcome to MF.

thanks for all the input, its not a reoccurring thing its just this is my 3rd 99 clipse and all 3 of them have had the same leak, in the first 2 clipse's i had to replace the gasket again about 2 months after putting a new one in then it was fine after that. i figured since this is the last one ill own and the one ima keep for a longer period of time i would use a lil more reliable parts then stock if i could. once its paid off i plan on rebuilding it from the ground up but for now if i have to replace parts i would like to replace them with better quality parts then stock.

Oddly, the OEM valve cover gaskets (including the SPTS) are better than those Felpro sets IMO. It may be a state of mind thing, but I can't refute it. I've used Felpro on my 6g73 and it leaked, but I replaced it with an OEM piece what do you know, no more leaking, lol. You might be able to find another name brand, but Felpro is the only one I know of.
