99 GST not starting/running

RE: 99 GST not starting/running
What have you done that may have led to this?
How long has it been doing this?
What was the last thing you did before your car started this?
Did you plug the MAF back in? I know this sounds silly, but it will cause this type of issue if it's not plugged in.
Check your TPS, ohm it out as per VFAQ.
Ohm your coolant temp sensor (doubt this is causing the issue).
Is your fuel pump turning on?
Do you have fuel pressure?
How do your plugs look? How long since you changed the plugs/wires?
Give us more info because I could go on with the questions.

silvercoupe is right, you have to be alot more elaborate, otherwise were shooting with our eyes close. From what I've heard you say, it doesnt sound like a fuel problem because you say it compeltly dies out. As if you turned off the ignition. So it may be an electrical problem, could also be a timing problem, and even is most likely a sensor that is dying out. which one i dont know, i need more information. Tell us the history of the car, what work you've done to it, when you did it, the EXACT symptons, any noises and the diognostics you've done already. we'll help you out

RE: 99 GST not starting/running
this is all the information i have on the vehicle. a good friend of mine has recently bought this car from anotherfriend of his. i was told that before he received it a new engine was put into it because someone drove the old one with no oil at all and it completely locked up. The 'new' engine is a used JDM 4G63T from japan. the only work we have done so far on the car is addinga body kit, front mount intercooler, new intake (yes MAF was reinstalled properly), and a custom exhaust which does not include a cat. Whenthe car starts i crank it over and let ign. go as it rattles to a start and then itwill die out almost immediately. The aformentioned noise is the only one car marks. All of the above sensors that silvercoupe has mentioned have been scanned and ohmed out and they all have passed. The sparks plugs are going to be changed next week and the wires all have been ohmed out and spark tested. No massive vaccum leaks can be heard aswe did try this already. I ran diagnostics with a scan tool and it told me that there were no codes in the PCM and that there were no system malfunctions. The only other thing that i can think of is that there are a few miscellaneous sensors that are not unplugged but are just laying around in the eng. bay and i cant seem to find out what they are and how to restore them to their proper places.
