Default Advice on bigger turbo

SO i have been looking around and I am thinking about getting a bigger turbo for my GSX, I dont want anything to dramatic, it is an everyday driver. So I want it to stay reliable. I was thinking about getting a TD05H 16g turbo charger like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TD05H...spagenameZWDVWand I was wondering what you guys know about them? what kind of power gain could I expect from it? would there be realiability issues?

Well eBay is not a performance part store. Those companies sell knock off ****ty turbos. Don't ever buy anything from eBay unless its something like a strut brace that cant go wrong.

The REAL EVO III turbo is more like $560. It can be found here www.slowboyracing.com You will need the install kit too because you are a 2g.

The gains you will expect are minimal. In order to fully benifit you need things like, intake, exhaust, blow off valve, boost gauge and boost controller. If you want to run that turbo at its full potential you will need a front mount intercooler, injectors, fuel pump and tuning device. At that point you will need a better clutch too (including the basic mods like intake etc...).In total all these things will run you about 3-4k. If you shop around and get a few things used you might be able to get that down to like 1.5-2k.

Just the turbo on its own with no other mods... you can expect to gain very little.

What kind of power goals are you hoping to achieve and what do you want to spend?

You can achieve those goals without changing the turbo. Next mods, boost controller, boost guage and fuel pump... and turn the boost upto 18psi

No, with the stock T25 turbo its more of a restriction. If you only want 250 thats really not hard to achieve.

These cars in general are **** in terms of reliability anyways... but if you ask me i dont think it will impact the reliability that much anyway.

A second generation that has had the oil changed regularly and has been maintained properly will take about 380hp.. after that, it would make me nervous.

EDIT: I just realised you only have a K&N filter and no intake. Get that too.

i think he'll have a problem getting 250whp on the t25. Cuz sure you can set the boost to 18psi. But i doubt its gonna hold it. But i agree with sebba about first getting some small essencials like a boost controller and guage, your gonna need them before the new turbo anyway.

250 wheel is probably just not going to happen... not on an old stock turbo. if you upgrade to a 16g 250 will be no problem but don't go getting all boost happy and turn the boost up w/o any suporting mods. but with a nice 16g (like the Evo III Big 16g) you can achieve apx 350whp w/a good tune, but it will cost you apx 1000-1500 or the accessories
