Hey! right now I have a drop in K&N filter in m GSX, right now schucks is having a sale where I can get $25 off the K&N intake system, should I go with that or just get the adapter and do like an AEM filter, what do you guys think?

 

Since its a turbo setup, it wont be cold anyway, thusly its all about air flow. Go with the K&N

 

i've heard bad things about K&N on mitsu's... i think it was for the EVO though... putting just the filter on there is a good thing but i've heard that DSM's and EVO's just don't like the intake system (typhoon?)

 

I was looking at this one http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=57-5504-1 they dyno tested it on a turbo eclipse and it says that it will add 7.7 whp which is pretty good for a filter. Does anyone have this?

 

i thought you were talking about the full typhoon intake system... yes this is a good intake if you are still running ur stock turbo. if you end up upgrading ur turbo though you may wanna look into an Injen intake. they are larger and feed the turbo more air than the stock intake.

 

I was pretty sure he meant the drop in.... thats why I said go for it. The typhoon causes MAF problems.

well it sounds like I should just skip the K and N and go with the Injen.

 

if ur gonna upgrade the turbo down the road, i would recommend it. you'll get a lot more air through there.

 

I run the FIPK, you won't regret getting it. It's an awesome product. And still one of my favorite mods.
