the reason you advance the cam gear one tooth is because when you put the tensioner on there and tighten the belt up it will pull the cams together just a tiny bit (apx 1/2 - 1 tooth) so it just compensates for that tension.

Only on the cam gears right? not the crankshaft sprocket or oil sprocket?

i can't think of any other way to explain it except to line the gears up perfectly, then roll them apx 1 tooththe way they normally go and when you put the tensioner on there and tighten the beltit will pull them back to dead even. if it were the 420a i would tel you to rotate them 1 tooth counterclockwise but since the 4g63 is oposite i'm not sure which way the belt goes.

While we are at it? how did you get the tensioner pulley for the timing belt to tighten? Rotating it, right? Well, how did you do that? Woody gave me an idea, but just wandering how you did yours?

i put an allen wrench in a pair of vise grips to spin the inside of that tensioner pulley. you can pull on the allen wrench and get the center to turn to snug up the belt. Dont forget to turn the engine over by hand a few turns and recheck your marks, do it 5 times over and check them again just to be 100% sure.
