Default Any info about 1998 gst spyder?

hey all im new here and i was wondering what i should be looking out for in a 1998 gst spyder with roughly 80000 miles that is an automatic? it has some mods like down pipe BOV 3inch exhaust from the cat back 19's its lowered and i think its got the suspension that fixes camber to reduce wear on the tires. thanks alot and are these engines reliable? thanks again!

Pictures of the entire car, inside and out, as well as under the hood. That will tell me what kind of shape the car is in.

With that said, these cars need maintaiance hardcore, if you don't change your oil, they are not like Hondas that just bounce back, you WILL **** **** up. Because they have become so readily available, younger guys are buying them (don't hate... I'm a teen too) and not taking care of them.... and then they run them into the ground. So natually they don't have the best reliability record.

However, if you found one that isn't beat to ****, it should be good.

By the sounds of those modifications, I don't think this person hasa CLUE about cars. I would ask for every single reciept that he has for all this stuff, and if any of it is from eBay then walk away from the deal.... or offer him next to nothing.

well i dont have to worry about the engine maintnance wise because its a family member that owns it(he changed the oil every 3000 milesand only used synthetic oils). its been garaged most of the time for past 2 years and has seen very little use. i know that exhaust mods were made for performance and i think reliability not sure what brand though but it runs better than before. the rims on the other hand will be replaced with smaller 18's or 17's. the car as it sits right now its slammed but good thing it has adustjable hieght dampners. ill get pics up later. but the cool thing is that i helped do the mods on the car so everything was done the right way.

what do you mean vented??? im not sure what that means man? like if it recircs into the intake or if it vents to the atmosphere? i dunno what you mean so can you clarify please.

and yeah its a hook up price. he got it in like 2001 or something for like 9000 with 18's and then he did the exhaust down pipe blow off valve and the current rims it has plus the stereo and turbo timer. and last time he told me he wanted 5000 for it but he said he had other rims he would swap out and drop the price lol. they are the same style only smaller. i think 17's but not positive. so i think i can get it with the smaller rims for about 4000-4500 bux..no that is hook up cuz i have seen like higher mileage stock ones that seem pretty used gor for like 5-6k and slghtly modded ones for 10k and up. and insurance seems to be good too. i think 1200 a year. cheaper to insure than my truck..i paid 1900 this year for it and thats only liability! lol.

but anything elsei should watch out for in these gen eclipses? and i heard the stock turbo sucks. what would you guys reccomend i change it too? not looking to make crzay power but something more reliable then stock. would a t3/t4 be cool or maybe something else? thanks again!
