uhm lately during COLD starts something squueling round the belt area. not sure whats going on, seems to happen more when i turn the heater on and stuff. if i drive when cold, i slowly accelerate and short shift, but i hear it whine even more when i rev. but its only when cold. i have no clue. anyone? its been happening about two weeks at most so far. thanks

youprobably just need to tighten the alternator belta little

what kind of car is it...i had a 97 gst and it would eat up serpentine belts like it wont no thing i would have to put a new one on like every two weeks so i would def keep an eye on that if you have a gst or w/e...

haha rcj has a point but i have to admit that even after adjusting my belt and what not everytime i never could figure out what was going on with it...if it still sqeaks after you adjust it or if any of them break you might wanna go through and see if you can spin all of the pulleys with your hand...you could have a seized up pulley...

also somtimes it's just a worn belt. its only like 12 bucks at an auto parts store.

it bothers me that its ONLY on COLD starts. after warm up its gone..........

i had this same prob i think its just the belt warming up and stretching a little and then shrinking back down once its cold again...check your tensioner and make sure your belt isnt too tight...loosen it a little bit on a cold start and then see if it still sqeals if it does then immediately turn the car back off and loosen it a little more but be careful not to over loosen the belt...

belt wear, mine did that in my GS for probably a good month or 2 before i finally got a new belt. now, nothing. get a new belt
