Default Belt is squeeking!

So everytime I start my car the serpentine belt starts to squeek. After for about a minute it will go away, sometimes even sooner. But then most of the time when I start to drive it will start to squeek again. Sometimes it will stop after a couple minutes of driving and sometimes it won't until I let off the gas. It is really getting annoying, but I don't know if I just need to put some tension on it or what. And if I do need to put tension on it what should I tighten. I don't see any tensioners when I pop the hood. o yeah its a 95 gst if that helps.

How old is the belt? It may just need to be replaced.

BUY a anti squeal spray for serpentine beltyou can buy those at Auto Zone or any Automotive store. it is like a brake cleaner but for serpentine beltonly. what it does is to lubricate the belt. your pully's must be rusty too or old

Or change your Serpentine belt and take it easy replacing it.

If you see a leak under your caror your drive way,
you have a broken oil seal.

Try the spray first it is only $5.00 it will stop the squeal for awhile if you look under your car and see oil dripping from the pulleys you have a broken Oil Seal.

did you previously replace the serpentine belt?
if you did the oil seal is crack. probably by the force of putting the new serpentine belt. I did mine and my stupid mechanic force the belt and it broke my Oil Seal

if you have 100,000 miles on your car it is time to replace the belts, oil seal and water pump

if it is tranny you feel it when changing gears on manuals but Automatic you will feel it every time you drive your car. it will not go away.

are you sure it is the tranny because your car will not move or the radiator will have transmission fluid on it.

a sign of a Tranny gone bad.

Lets go back to this 'oil seal' i just had my 60k main. done with new belts and pulleys and such and now my belt is squeking also not all the time it goes and comes and there is oil under the car and even kinda like a grey sludge type. all this was done prob not more then 3thousand miles ago. what needs to be done to get it to stop??
