Belt (timing?) squeels when car is started
When the car is started, there's squeeling and it should be the timing belt. Is there an adjustment to tighten that can be done before replacing it ($600 estimate).

if the squeal is only for a few seconds it's probably just an accessory belt, try squirting some belt dressing on a/c belt and alternator belt.If it lasts all the time check belt tension and adjust if neccessary. If this doesn't work it could be 1 of your 2 timing belt pulley bearings going bad.The timing belt itself should not be making this noise, hope this helps.P.S.,why not change the timing belt yourself and save $550. ????
