Default Big project help me please!

Ok so I got a 1995 turbocharged 2.0 L 16-valve DOHC Mitsubishi 4G63 engine from a 1995 eclipse GS-T with automatic transmission and I want to put it into a 1997 Mitsubishi eclipse RS which had a 420a motor and an automatic transmission but the motor is seized up. Now am I going to have any problem putting the 4G63 2nd gen into the 2nd gen 97 eclipse? I really need help with this please.

The engine will not fit into the rs withoutalot of money and fabrication. The frame is not strong enough to support the extra weight, and from what ive read the engine bay is about 4 inches smaller that the gst, gsx. Not to mention you would have to replace the ecu, and transmission i believe.

No it will not. There is no difference between the 1st and 2nd gen 4g63 except that some are 6 bolts. The only thing you can do is put in another 420A. Sorry.

Ya, sorry bud. You would be better off getting a 420a motor out of a junk yard for cheap.. Keep your eye open online for them also.. The money that you would have to spend though isnt worth the swap..

Look around for a crashed eclipse with a 420a for the motor or just rebuild yours if you dont have to time to wait and hope to come across a good deal.

Well that kinda sucks this 4g63-T isn't stock either heres the list

HKS camshafts
Ross Racing Pistons
HKS blow off valve
Garrett turbo 20lbs boost
Thing makes 420 HP
it also comes with some odds and ends like

Wiring harrness
ECU
AC
power steering pump

All of this for $1400
and a 97 elcipse RS for $500

I go to a vocational High school and I am taking up automotive and I need a project car for this motor..

You always have the option of selling the rs and trying to find a gst shell. Then you can just drop in that 4g63t, assuming its not the 6 bolt motor.
