how many amps is the alt? you should be able to rive the car correct? if so go to napa and have them run a alt test on it you do not have to take it out but it will tellthem if the amps are jumping high to blow fuse.

you installed it wrong and/or have a short somewhere. just follow your wires and trace your steps
