Default bosst problem.(i think)

i have a 98 eclipse gst 5spd and i just installed RRE piping. well at least the lower and the throttle body elbow piece. they screwed up the upper ic piece. so i have to send it back. but is like a 2psi drop over rpm range normal? like from 12psi to 10? and i havea turbo xs mbc with fine tune. if i try and tune it a little will it elimate that?. or is that always going to be like that?

What rpm range does it drop off, my s16g will hit 16psi and slowly creep back down to 14/15psi.

If the turbo cant hold the flow then it will taper off, or if you have a boost leak it will taper off. Seeing how you just added IC pipes I going to jump out and say get a boost leak tester or make one and it should tell you where your problem is coming from

ok thank you. im going to make one tomorrow morning and get everything ready to do it tomorrow afternoon. before i but the piping on i could hold 12psi no problem and no taper off at a certain rpm either.

ok i just took it out and see what rpm exactly it was falling at. about 5900rpm is when it drops. if i put it in 5th and let it full spool to 12psi itll hold it. i held it for like 10-15sec and no drop what so ever. only at high rpm it seems to drop. and i know the max hp rpm is 6k from what i have heard. any ideas? sound like a boost leak? or something else? anything helps guys

could just be the crappy stock BOV. I would start there because they always leak

yeah thats why im thinking. i have to wait until tomorrow until upper pipe gets here so i can get everything together and then check the whole thing for leaks.

Which falls under boost leak, but if it wasnt leaky at 12 pIS before a LICP then it should leak at 12PSI after. Obviously if he was working on the charge pipes by taking them off and putting new ones on and now all of a sudden he is loose pressure Im going to have to go out on a limb and say he has a loose or bad connection slightly.
