I just got a 97 gst thts stock the other day and i want a blow off valve. plz give me y'alls opinion on which one would bw the best for me to get.

Greddy type s or try the new trype rs i believe it is but i dont know if that has a recirculation kit with it?

 

turboxs, hks ssqv = crap, idle surge, turbo killers

tial= good for monster turbos


If you want something cheap and lackluster that works good get a 1gen crushed bov
If you want something good that works, looks good, and costs more, get the greddy type s or rs

venting has nothing to do with it. The bovs are a crappy design, especially the hks. Trust me I know, i own an HKS and ive been waiting ot get rid of it. If you build up boost, and let off the throttle even moderately slowly, the bov just shuts and you get massive surge. You can feel it your whole car shakes an it feels like its gonna destroy your turbo. Its fine for racing but very bad for the turbo for street driving.

When you get a bov, gen an upper ic pipe with a type s flange welded on for you.

 

Yeah get a complete greddy intercooler piping kit w/ a greddy type s bov. that is what I have and I couldn't be happier. I recirculate and you can still get the bov to whistle between gears.

 

I've never had any problems with my turbo xs. But I went with a greddy fmic and piping so I had to stick with the greddy
