i just recently aquired a magnaflow high flow cat so i can't wait to see how that helps against the mazda6. i am having some trouble with the engine during this break in process though. in various gears i will lose compression for a few seconds at a time and the rpm needle will go nuts! and just as soon as it starts it stops and it runs fine but the check engine light is on. is my engine about to blow up before it even started running properly?

just a bit of an update. i wanted to wait til after the break-in was complete but i couldnt wait. the mazda6 i was talking about got dynod at 142 hp to the wheels. after that we were on the highway doing about 85 and he dropped to about 3rd and took off. i kept in 5th and hit the gas about 3/4 of the way. i hit 120 at about 4k in 5th gear. hes nervous. dsm power!!!

It would be really interesting to see what your engine would make on the dyno with the propper break in.... hmmm i wonder.
Can you do a compression test just so i can have some real world numbers for when people ask about confirmation that this break in method works.

so... what happened? you said you couldnt wait, i'm assuming that b/c he dropped into 3rd he just completely walked from you. 5th gear in my car doesn't pull worth a crap. let us know what happened there and are you going to get it dyno'd? i just got my car dyno'd on saturday on our local mustang dyno, with all my mods (CAI, full headerback exhaust (to big for my NA car but very nice for my soon to be turbo'd car), and Venom 400 chip) i put down 111 to the wheels, now i think i have a blown head gasket on it and i'm in desperate need of a timing belt change so i'm assuming once i do my rebuild with my lightweight flywheel, new timing belt, new head gasket, and lightweight pulleys... i'll be seeing some different numbers but i gotta wait to get another car before i can rebuild it.
