Car running problem
It been a long time since I posted, but have occasionally stop. Well I finally got my car back after a year and a half. Threaten court action against a shop just to get it back. Now that it back I have been driving it for maybe a month now and this problem started. The car would start fine cold and drive fine warmed. But after an hour of driving it shuts off. When it shuts off the car refuse to stay started. It will crank start then shut off like your turning the keys to the off position. If I start it and rev it, it will rev then die in what ever RPM i am holding it at. Fuel pump was checked and still primed and had pressure to the fuel rail. Igniter and coils swapped and still no luck. Only thing is to let it sit for an hour and it will start back up no problem till an hour or so of driving. Could this be ECU overheating.. the CEL came on and said it was the CAM sensor.. Could the cam sensor overheat. It a 6 bolt 2nd gen car with a 98 ecu. I also read that the MFI relay if it glitchy can cause a Cam sensor cel to come on. Just need further ideas or if any of the one mention sound like the culprit. Dont want to spend to much dolla diagnosting..

Ok i have ran into this problem DSM had a bad habbit of locating the wiring harness right by the hot pipe to the egr valve just check all your wires even if the littlest amount of wire is showing it will throw the ECU into a frenzie check the wires going to the Cam sensor/ Crank Sensor / TPS sensor that should help
Yah I have replaced the coil pack and checked fuel pump and both are good. I had a space ecu lying around and I put that in and it hasn't been shutting off yet. But i also cleaned up the wiring harness like you mention on top and moved it away from the egr area. So far so good but I it only been running for an hour straight. Maybe not long enough. It threw a CAS sensor code prior to my fix attampt.
