i have a 98 gst 5 speed. where can i disconnect the clutch so i dont have to have it to the floor to start it?. not to clear sorry.

be careful to remind anyone that drives ur car of that. almost had a guy on he lift in a shop drive my car thru the wall cuz he forgot. then he asks why my car does that.. and i said the car is not normally driven by a jackass... and it kinda pissed him off. well, i told him about it right off the bat. before he got in it... i mean i even told him he would have difficulty with the clutch. needless to say i had to take my own car off the lift cuz the guy kept stalling. and cuz he almost sent it thru the wall trying to start it in gear.. i can't stand people sometimes.

 

why the hell would you want to start your car without putting the clutch in?

When you start the car there is a time frame of low oil pressure, so if you have the foot on the clutch and low oil pressure it exerts alittle more pressure to the bearings. This is at least a theory anyway. So alot of people will disconnect the clutch start switch so that they can start without the clutch down. this is however not track legal. So if you go to the track you may be told to fix it

 

when u go to the track to do they look at it, do they inspect your car first?

 

A lot of people say it prevents tob wear. Its also easier instead of climing in everytime to startthe carimo.

I have mine disconnected also. What's the big deal anyway? I used to put the gear selector in neutral before I pushed the clutch in and started the car. So, what's the big deal with making sure it's in neutral before starting the car?

 

You kids must not be old enough to remember manual cars that didn't need to have the clutch presssed in to start, lol.
