Default Clutch....

Lately, my 4th gear has not been staying in place. It keeps popping out. 4th gear is the only one that doesnt work. I have no idea what is wrong. Do you guys have any idea whats wrong?

/\ ....lol, me? on a side note, my moms car is a 4 speed auto...

...well, dunno, if its only one gear, then it shouldnt be the clutch, so it could be the 4th gear synchro? i dont know that much about trannies (lol) so thats just my 2 cents...

Popping out could also indicate other problems. There is actually a TSB on the Mirage and the Sigma having to do with the spring and keys on the synchro hubs. It might be worth looking into. And likely will cost a bit to have the trans rebuilt for this reason. Check if you have a poppet spring assembly on the exterior of the trans that you can adjust. It MAY cure the problem for you.

well i might actually be cheaper to just get the new tranny and put it in then to rebuild this one, cuz thats what would need to be done. I had the problem where i couldnt get it into a gear. I think i only paid like 500 for a new tranny.

I was going to say syncro but I though it was just a buffer so you didnt have to double clutch.
