Default Coil Overs

Hey People,
I was thinking of buying some coilovers for my Eclipse 98 GST spyder. Anyone know the major reason TEIN is so expensive? I'm thinking of either going with them or with TOKICO which are much cheaper. Will i suffer from going with the tokico's as opposed to the TEIN?

TEIN is the true coilover. it is not the adjustable spring that will go over your stock/aftermarket shocks. when you get those TEINs, you are getting the shocks and springs together. the other reason they are so expensive is because they are one of the best true coilovers on the market along with JIC.

well if you look at the tokico set it shows that all it is springs with new shocks. They are NOT adjustable. They are just lowering springs. The tien are coilovers which are adjustable. I wouldnt even get the tolico cuz you can get lowering springs for cheaper than that.

so what would be some good coil overs to go with if your a person on a budget? Is this the typical price for coil overs - $600-$1200? And what are some other manufactures that are worthwhile investigating?

my question that i have is how much of a drop are you looking for. What r u trying to get out of this. The lowered look, the handeling, ect. Because coilovers maybe not be necesarily what your looking for.

I'm more going for the handling in all of this. Not necessarily the dropped look (although it makes the car look more aggressive and I like the look if its not overdone). I want my car to stick around corners basically. Also, were the links posted above Springs and struts? Because the pictures just showed the springs. I need both springs and struts for my car right now. Thanks for the help!

Shocks/Struts: KYB AGX
These are approximately $300 off of ebay

Springs: Eibach pro kit
These are approximatly $200 off of ebay

So you are getting a very stiff high quality suspension for only $500 rather than spending the money for a coilover kit, if you dont really want to be lowering the car over 2". If it was me then this is what i would do.
