Default Confused Oil Pressure

I went out and checked my oil before I went to the track today. It was about a1/4 quart low not toomuch, which I thought was odd since it never burns any oil anyways so i pull the dipstick out and wipe it off and check it like 4 times just to make sure. SoI put somein. Then on the way back my oil pressure gauge is down on the L and at idle it stays there and when the turbo spoolsit stays there it won't move at all. Shouldn't the oil pressure rise as the rpm's rise? Anyways I noticed it was unusual and checked my oil and its a 1/2 a quart over. What the hell????

Anyways I ran a 14.6 in the GS-T all I have is a catback. Not too bad if you ask me.

Are you going by the stock in dash oil pressure gauge? If so they fail over time.

Well, not so much the gauge itself, but the sender. It's really in a bad location where the motor's vibration kills them. A remote mount from the factory would be a good thing, but it really doesn't matter, those senders aren't priced too high. I got mine for....$15-$25 maybe? They don't go out often, but when they do, it's usually the sender.

mine goes 1/4 of the way up when its cold, sits all the way down after it warms up, i just ignore it.
did you check your oil on level ground the first time?? if your on a slight hill like a driveway it wont be quite right.

...not to mention, if you check your oil when the motor is still cold, it will show a tad lower than when it's warmed up.
I do agree with Racer about checking oil on a level surface. I doubt your oil pressure just stopped. It's most likely the sender being dead or it may even have a poor connection...even though it's only two, lol.

You would be surprised.. Even though you think your car doesnt burn or leak any oil, it will always use a little bit.. It may not be much, but turbo cars will always use a little bit of oil, and over time if you didnt change it, you would notice it being low..

I realized that my driveway has apothole in it and I probably was resting right in it( I always check my oil in the garage except that day ) my oil is about half a quart over so I just got some new oil and changed it and filled it to the correct amount the oil pressure gauge still isn't working though i'm just gonna say screw it and order an aftermarket one.
