Coolant Flush

RE: Coolant Flush
Some places have a machine to do that. Basically what you're going to do is get a coolant flush and dump it in the radiator. Run the engine a few minutes (10 I believe is the recommended at running temp so that the thermostat is open). Then you'll open the radiator drain (At the bottom of the radiator in one of the corners) and drain the entire radiator before refilling it. There are also kits to flush that will put a piece in the line so that you can flusha little more thoroughly. The machines that shops have will actually take the top radiator hose off and hook into both sides. One side will take the old coolant out the other side will put new coolant in. I recommend using whatever is in the car currently if you're doing the flush yourself. If you have a shop do it and your running dexcool then I would recommend retrofitting it and going with regular coolant (Antifreeze). But if you try to do this yourself without the flush machine that shops have I garauntee that you will gum up the cooling system. Decool mixed with Antifreeze turns into a gelatanous blob basically. That's my suggestions on the idea. Heed them as you may.

RE: Coolant Flush
Like I said it depends on what is running in the car already. I'd actually recommend that if your coolant is currently orange (Which is Dexcool) take it to a shop and get them to retrofit it. Green antifreeze from everything I've gathered about it (I work at a shop as well) works just as well as Dexcool and is more compatible with things and cheaper for that matter.
