Default Definition of Sleeper

Hey guys, I own a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS, the only thing that has been done is DC Sport N\T Headers and Short Ram Intake. I have been looking at the idea of being a sleeper but when you look at an eclipse you think he must have a turbo. I would like to put on a turbo just for like 8 psi, just enough power to get up and go. They said that it is an eclipse and it will never look like a sleeper. I was thinking that i get a stock turbo for mitsubishi, buy an rs kit, install it, change the intake to turbo as well as change the headers and downpipe, high flow cat, and leave the rest stock with just the muffler being stock dual tip. I was wondering what you guys think if i could pull it off or should i just start going rice on it.

well even if you did these things, sure youd have a car that didnt look turbo but really was. However it really woudnt be that good of a sleeper. What i mean is, it really wont be that fast

You have exactly the wrong car for sleeper status. A sleeper should look either really beat to hell, or just some random car, that you would never guess had a lot of power. My pal brandon has a volvo 242 coupe that is about 4 shades of red. You wouldnt really expect that to be very fast, but he got a turbo kit and a lot of other mods, and that thing is fasssssssst.

I you want a stock/sleeper non turbo eclipse but turbo look. Get a stock 420a exaust(not the gst exhaust), a hahn stage 2 turbo kit w/ a smic, and off road pipe with a exaust cut out on it.

For the deffinition of a sleeper...

The car below is not as it seems, It may look like a riced out yellow hunk of crap but that car could rip any car on this forum apart. Matter fact I could rip nearly any car thats street legal apart. Its got some where around 50k invested in speed mods. I am not going to go though the particulars but 4g63 swapped, awd conversion, low 11 sec 1/4 mile run. Rips side ways on launches.

i agree, if you were only running 8 psi you wouldnt be producing enough power to be a real sleeper, even if you were runing 12-15+psi then you'd have to get a front mount... unles you went w/ a L2A intercooler.

and youll never really be a sleeper no matter what. If a guy in an STi drives up next to you, and doesnt know **** about DSMs. Hes gonna think right to fast and the furious, and think you're at least kind of fast.
