Lol actually that is a not a bad idea at all. That would be hilarious if it actually worked.

 

DSM Diamond Star Motors (the company that makes your car LOL)... First off for that $ you can do alot to get the car a bit better running. First get a better fuel pump. Also get a better turbo and an intercooler. Take EVERYTHING you can out of the car before the race (Rear and passenger seats, spare tire, jack and tools, anything unecessary like stereo parts that aren't mounted inside the dash or panels, you might even think about tearing the drivers seat out pulling the carpet and taking all the sound dampening material out and putting the carpet back in and the seat back) Possibly look into a turbo timer or boost controller, Fuel management system, and some dyno time to tune everything. That'll give you a better shot.

 

Also look into lighter rims and lo pro tires (Keep the stock ones and swap them if you lose lol)

 

get a AGP RS60 Turbo, big front mount intercooler, and push about 30 psi out of it...

I would say that would do it... That should leave a little money to replace your motor after that too..

 

i think you better get a **** load of car lenghts or you last ur car sorry to say.

Thats a big turbo so your gonna get a lot of turbo lag... But when it spools up your gonna be blowin by him...

You would want to do some work to the guts of your motor tho.. (Tranny work would be a good idea) If you have 5 grand, you should have 4 after the turbo to beef up your motor... Now depending on how serious you are on winning this and the money you want to spend.. That should just about do it... Im not sure what they don't have in that kit, but you may need a new exhaust manifold/piping to make it work.. Im not exactly sure...

 

Don't know if you raced him yet, but if its still a 305...get some more specs on the camaro. If he truly has a 305 then its most likely a third gen. They were mostly tanks, especially with the 305's. IF he still sporting the 305 and said he has 400+ he's not telling the real story. No real chevy guy builds up a 305, its kinda funny when I think about it. Here is a video of my GSX racing a 2nd gen 305 camaro, at the time I was painting my car and it was running low to mid 13's. He was bragging that his camaro was SO FAST.
