Default do you think i might have a chance?

ok so my little bro got a ford F150 Lightning and i told him when he got his First car/Truck i would take him to the track and race him. but i didnt expect for him to go and buy a race truck. so in about 4 months i will be racing him-when its not all cold. but here is my problem if he beats me i will nvr here the end of it. i have a 98 gst spyder Auto ( greddy bov, and hard pipes, cold air intake). he will be running it stock (99 Ford F150 Lightning Autotrans)- i no this because he can barly pay his car payment. what are my chances- and if i have very little wat could i do to make sure that i dont lose to him(performance wise)

you need more boost. No doubt about it. With stock boost you are gonna loose. It will be close if you turn it up to 16psi. Even then im not totallyconvinced youd win. But it would give you a better chance anyway

it won't happen period with the stock turbo. you will definatly need a 16g upgrade at least. you are looking at 1500-2000 in upgrades to get a Evo III Big 16g and all suporting mods (AND TUNED!).

huh? you can get low 14's on a stock turbo, even high 13's and the lighting is like a low 14 truck

Its a 98 gst auto. My stock auto 95 gsx ran a 15.5 . That was launching it. If you expect to beat him you better upgrade your turbo, fuel system, turn up the boost, exhaust, tune it, and then you will have to gettraction, well basically if you want your auto gst to beat a ford lighting you better drop a few grand quick.

i still dont see needing the upgraded turbo. With the right mods and the right tune the t25 should be able to get low 14's easy

I dont think pushing the t25 and aiming for low 14s is going to beat a lighting.

Could throw a 14b turbo in there and then you could reach 14's easy enough..
