Hey guys..... I have to get a new engine and transmission for my 96rs, and i found a turbo'd engine that i could put in but the transmission that comes with it is all wheel drive and my car's just front so if i were to get the transmission what would be required for me to do to make it work?? I asked this question on another forum and got called names lol...and they told me i'd have to put like 10 grand into the car to convert it but no one told me what i would have to do. even if you think it is a waste of money/time can someone refer me to somewhere i could see what is involved in the process or just tell me how to do it.

so even tho i read that massive thread about the evo 8 engine swap into an rs i didn't see where it told me if i could convert a fwd rs to an awd rs.....can it be done and how??

Do more research and you'll see why you aren't getting the answers you hoped for.

 

short answer...no you cant swap fwd to awd but search and you'll find out why

 

thanks for a stright answer thats all i was really looking for i only wanted to know if i could do that because i'm doing an engine swap and the engine i'm getting has a turbo and comes with a manual tranny that is awd. so if i can't convert my car to awd then i wasnt going to get it and i'll just get a turbo'd engine without a manual awd tranny...thanks for the answer tho...

 

I hope your notplanning on swaping a1g/2g 4g63t engine in your rs.

 

i think he mentioned doing the evo 8 engine swap earlier....thats pretty much the only swap rs's can do....thats reasonably easy and cheaper than 1g/2g swaps
