I just recently got promoted to a good position at work. I want a new or nice car, Im a big fan of Eclipses. I own a 95 GS right now, but Im not to happy with it. It has given me way too many machanical problems. I really like the 99 GSX's, but I dont know what kind of problems I will have to face. I have heard about crackwalk. I drove a 2006 Subaru STI the other day and I like the AWD feeling. What do you guys recommend a 99 GSX or a 2006 STI? Any advice would help, thank you.

 

well thats kinda a big difference there. Your talking about one car that is brand new and you know will have no problems or trying to find a used 99 gsx which will be hard enough, and find one in good shape, then you wont have any warrenty most likely. If you have the money to spend on a new STI why not look at evo's?

 

EVO>STi>GSX in that order.

The EVO and STi are the same cost and the EVO has a stronger motor and the IX is faster

 

Thank you guys for your comments. I know that a GSX 99 is not going to be knew. That is not a problem I forgot to add if it was worth buying one and then putting money into it. Like I said I love Eclipses its just I had a bad experience with the one I have now. Despite my car I still love Eclipses! I guess I am a little dissapointed. What are the specs for and EVO IX? Is it still 5 speed and with 286 Horse Power. I know the STI's have a 6 Speed 2.5 300 Horse Power Boxer Engine. Which car would be more reliable? Thanks again.

looks pretty clean but you really need to see the engine and drive it to know. Those cars can handle alot but you just need to know what the limits are with each mod so that you dont blow the motor. If you really want the GSX then go for it. With the money you save you could easily get that car running low 12's. However i suggest if your thinking about getting a new car then take a look at the evo and not the sti. Even though the STI has more HP, the evo is faster stock and more reliable and from what ive heard. Is a much better car to drive. Id say go and test drive an evo and then some GSX's and go from there.

 

and depending where you live, you can get a special car. a BR350 at medina mitsubishi which is cheaper than an MR but its the only mitsubishi dealer that gets those.

 

1st off too many miles on that car for that price. I would tell the dude 10 G's work from there.. Even 10 is too much. Also, the EVO's have the engine as a DSM the 4g63. I was just doing some research on the EVOs and I was amazed I didn't realize the MR had aluminum roof and body panels! lol Do what you want to do. You are messing with your head now get what you want but if you get a new one depending on credit you are looking at around 600+/ mth.

um what? every GSX eclipse comes with a 4g63...so JDM engine?
