Well you have a 420a, i can tell you that....also i can tell you not to bother on researching the 4g63 since you wont be able to swap it in there with out an extensive ammount of money. What kinda plans do you have, and what do you expect to be getting out of the car. Cuz i will tell you now that speed is not something you should expect without a turbo kit which usually means around $3k

basically look at this way... anything under 150whp... go with an RS or GS. anything above that and you it's cheaper to get a GS-T or GSX.

do not ask a question in one thread and then make a completely new thread about it.

So you're saying that if I want to put any mods on it that I should just go with a 4g or are you talking just the I/H/E. and simple ****? If I ever felt the need to go turbo I would definitely get a GS-T or a GSX. But is there anything special about the eclipse that I wouldn't already know with my general knowledge of cars?

Umm well with the 420a they are known to go threw head gaskets. So either replace it now, or wait and replace it when it goes. Cuz eventually it will happen at some point. What exactly are you looking for. Almost all engines function the same way, and this one is really no different.

if you are looking for a nice looking daily driver get a 97-99 eclipse gs. they look the same as the gs-t and gsx except for the rear spoiler which you can swap out. they are good looking cars but other than that... not good for much else unless you dump 4k+ into it.
