Default Easy question

Not to familiar with the 98 GSX yet and just want to ask a simple question. Do these car heat up really fast. I turned the car on drove it to a friend house just less than a block away and I pop the hood just to check if exhaust still leakin and the thing is pipin hot. Is this normal. The car temp reading from the guage inside the car never goes past half. Just curious.

Yeah dude, they get really hot...My GSX is the same way...it's because of the turbo forcing more air into the motor, burning more fuel and causing the heat...I bet you weren't just crusin to your friends house too...Had to get on it didn't ya? LMAO!!! Me too!

Ya but that is called running supra lean having a bad tune and still beating on the car.

Glowing red on a stock turbo and manifold prob is not a good thing just think about the temp in the motor the EGTs will be so hot that it will cause damage if kept that way

No no i didn't even boost just start the car put it in first gear and rolled along. You can touch the manifold but if you leave your hands on it then you will get a nice little burn. But after boosting hard can't even put ur hand near it lol. Can fry an egg of the manifold. I think my car running rich and the missfire was corrected with Bpr6es plugs and all check engine light cleared and gone. Hooked up map sensor but not connected to a vac line and evap solenoid hooked up but no lines connected. There was oil on the spark plug threads is this okay?
