and i would bet that those times as tested are ALL sticks...and most of them are cobras...

 

I REALLY CANNOT SEE WHY THE MUSTANG IS A CLEAR WINNER,I THINK IF THE ECLIPSE DRIVER CAN DRIVE WELL WHY IT WONT GIVE AN AUTO GT A GOOD RUN. ANYONE ELSE FEEL THAT WAY?

 

Well if they both know how to drive the car well it will be close considering a GS-T runs a 15.0 flat stock. if the gst has mods it possable but it wont be by much.

 

Let me just say that I'm the kids brother. Just to set some things right, I am just joking around with him about that stuff and he apparently took it seriously and second of all I ran the mustang stock and it ran 14.29. It could of ran 14.1s if I gave it time to cool down after the hour trip. Just thought I would tell you guys. I don't know where you get your info from.

 

i can say in truth,i saw a 98 gt auto convertable with some stereo weight run consistant 15.0-15.1's at the track.

 

Ok lets do this take the gst you paid anywhere from 5-8 grand for it. now how much did that stang cost 12-17? around there used. now lets take that extra money dump it into the eclipse and the mustang would look like a toy. For the time u gain .5-.9 seconds for that mush more money isn't worth it when i could spend the same amount and all ya would see is smoke and tail lights.


ok but for real I am having this same debate with a buddy of mine. except he has a convertible. and I paid 5Grand for my car he was a dumb *** and spent 21Grand.
Another reason I don’t like stangs is they went from competing with a real American sports car "corvette" to a slow chic car that is now in the camaro class and still lost. ford needs to bring back some of the old style where it was all about speed and HP/torque. but they know they will lose. "I am a Chevy fan I bought my car because i like the body style than realized the potential it had".

 

I'm a chevy fan too, more Chevy than Ford but I still like Ford, only their mustang though. I have an '85 Z28 camaro as well. But I'm sure a stock gst or what not goes mid 15s stock probably or highs? I got mine for 13k used and I haven't seen many gsts at all out there for less than 8k and if they are out there they prolly got lots of miles or theres something wrong with it. I think the mustang is definetly more bang for the buck!! I went 14.29 and my friend's buddy has one that went 14.0.

 

most people get their numbers from magazines, and i have seen plenty of Gt autos struggle with 14s..

everyone knows someone who has a mustang that runs some amazing time...so...
