and in post number 47...that is a body kit on that R..if it is a real cobra R....the R's that i have seen had a very similar body to the regular cobras from the same year.

ok seein as to how i love the old school shelbys (gone in 60 seconds has one in it"Elinor") chevy and ford have always been the fastest hotrods not stock but you look at it and the 2 major names EVERY SINGLE NHRA NASCAR TUNER RODDER MODDER even people who dont know jack about cars know's ford and chevy so now thats said anyone that know the name can say chevy or ford but unless u actually know the full potential of a v8 rather it being a 350 400 454 527 720 big block or small hemi'd bore'd over reinforced cams cranks and sooo much freakin more its alot more than throwin an intake insteada your stock air filter believe me its comeing from someone who has blown 3 diffrent engines and twisted a rear end due to not havein POSI traction (limited slip diff) i have replaced everything from front to back and then i relized after 20g's into the car its time to sell it and get a tunner where if u spend 20g's you can have a fast ride with turbo and if something does blow it dosent take 3 months to find some part thats going to cost 100 + 50 s&h i respect every single old school,muscle,low rider i see simple for there dedication i dont care if i got off topic damn it !!!!!! lol my point is its a pointless form keep it to the DSM or at least IMPORTS!!!!! see ya

 

mastangs are a dime a dozen...everyone has one...and yes there are alot of eclipses but not that many that are turbo. plus eclipses are reliable. Enless you like takin your car to the shop every month then stick with import.

I'd run my '99 Eclipse GS-T against a Stang anytime and I work at a Ford dealership..I've beaten Novas and Chevelles going red light to red light before but woulda got my azz kicked on the highway.

ok first of all as far as reliablity goes, if you mod a car its not gunna be reliable, period.. second of all a dsm will need quite a bit to beat a mustang stock 02 will run low 14s with a good driver, auto will turn 14.3-14.7 depending on miles, tranny, condition etc.. plus a 02 mustang with exhaust will break 13s.. on a second note the 05 mustang turns 13.8 from the factory, so theres not much of a chance... a GS-T will need Exhaust, Intake, Boost Controller, Intercooler and a BOV and itll get towards the lower 14 mark, if you can drive and if the boost is turned up enough.. if you get some radials on there then itll go 13s but barley.. sorry to say but in the mustang vs. eclipse the mustang takes the cake, this is talking stock to stock.. as far as the 99 eclipse gs-t thatll run any stang anytime i say bring it on, i got a mustang thatll tear it up.. dont get me wrong though im not a dsm hater, i had a 97 GS-T before i got the stang so i know first hand how much a dsm will get waxed by a mustang

 

I i got to say is it is a ford they circled the problem!

 

A gs-t should beat a gt, but no way it will beat a cobra, I've beat a cobra but it was a 98 or somthin I think so it wasn't superd but it was only to like 80 somthin, but the new ones are pretty fast, the only imports i know that can beat it stock are evolutions and sti's and when i saw a stock sti vs stock cobra the sti killed it.
