I've owned both, back to back. The teg is a whole lot quicker off the line, but once the clipse gets moving, you'll be seein' Acura in your rear view.

Mine is a GS, so I wouldn't know about the Spyder. I couldn't imagine it being any heavier than the GS though. Why would it be?

I have an auto GSX and I have a playfull rivalry with a manual spyder turbo convertible. We are 2 n 2 now. The point being is if the vehicle was a non convertible he would smoke me. But since the vehicle is a convertible it evens out the naturally .2-.3 sec slower auto because of the weight. Any questions?? LOL

According to http://auto.consumerguide.com/Auto/U...arreviewspecs/ the hard top is 2,767 and the convertible is 2,888. The difference is probably more in the motor for the top than anythiong else.
I can't find the Consumer Reports page but they put it at around 3,150 and the rag top at around 3,286 if I remember right.
Now the same consumer reports said the Celica Convertible GT is 2100 lbs 8O And AutoConsumerGuiude comes back with a more realistic 2,700 lbs
