ok i threw a EGR valve code the other day and i was wondering where is the damn thing is located under the hood??? I always thought the egr valve controlled emissions and im not worried about that because i live in WV and they dont check emissions here. If i dont have the egr valve replaced would it cause the car to run poorly or just cause bad emissions???

The egr valve recirculates exause gases into the intake during decell and idle. The only benifit you get from it ans maybe a mpg or two. Thats about all it does... that and release less gases into the air. Honestly I blocked mine off becuase i dont want to burn hot gas when I spent so much money on a cold air intake.
