Just wondering anyone else have electronic ignition key that looks like a computer chip?

i have electrolock removable computer chip in my car so the whloe igntion system is killed when it is taken out.

Oh you're talking about something that's removable in the car itself not the key? (I thought you were talking about that little chip that GM puts on thier keys).

nope a removeable computer chip that is hidden and when it is taken out ignition system shuts down.

Hhhmm.... I dunno if mine has that. Once I get it up here I'll have to check. What exactly does it plug into? I have haynes manual that MIGHT say something about it.

just a slot about 1 1/2" wide by 1/2" tall.

Where at are you talking about on the ECU? I HAVE seen them put the EPROM chip for the ECU on a removable board. Or is it an actual security feature?

no it is a chip that is ment to be removed under dash by the steering wheel like a kill switch but it is a computer chip.
