Hey guys I just failed emmission test today .

I failed and I don't know what's the cause. I failed the part called oxides of nitrogen ( something like that) .

Can anybody tell me what should I do with this in order to pass the test?

My guess would be the 02 sensor thing... but keep me informed... cuz I got cars that gotta pass MD inspection next month...

 

wtf do you mean by o2 cheater, and why do you have it? are you running catless?

 

It basically simulates the voltage of a perfectly find o2 sensor so it does not flip the ECU code. However if they actually test the exhaust then you will be ****ed

 

As I thought then... the sensor thing. What benefit does the O2 "trick" cause?

 

Once again i ask why then? because it doesnt seem like he has mods where he would need to do any tricking of the o2 sensor. Unless he is catless, which is just dumb.

I say get rid of the stupid o2 trick, then put the stock one back it, drive it around and re-test, if you still fail, then check your egr valve

 

Ya, the only thing that is doing is tricking your ecu from sending out a check engine code... But in reality you arent ever gonna pass an emisions test... Just b/c you trick your ecu doesnt mean its up to code

 

True that on the tricking the ECU. I almost pass the emmission. Nox fail because I was 2.5#### and the passing point is 2.1####

someone told me to put 2 cans of dry gas , take off air filter and drive the car on highway for 20 minutes at least before the test

What do you guys think? I have 4 months to come up with something.

 

Forgot to mention. I still have my cat converter.

What is egr valve?

 

It is a valve that recirculates some air from the exhuast back into the engine (Exhuast Gas Recirculation Valve) Alot of times when the start to get clogged, or go bad you will start to see higher emmisions #'s. And i believe NOx is one that it would mess up. But you could also try the dry gas, that will reduce your #'s a bit
