so awhile back i posted a thread about this rattle coming from the engine, the car idles very quiet the rattle only comes when you accelerate and the rattle gets a little faster, i think it MAY get a little louder but not much, i still cant figure out what it is at all, my first impression the first time i heard it was that it was a rod but i was told that the rattle/knock would be constant if that was the case, someone did tell me that i could have a bad ignition coil and in that case the car was only running on 2cylinders, that kinda seamed.....out there i guess, does anyone have any advice on his advice or any other advice, im really trying to avoid taking to a dealer or mechanic to save myself some money

 

Rattle? Like... could it be something as simple as the exhaust heat shield is touching the header? Or like something internal?

 

well i replaced the the entire exhaust system from the header back cause that was another thing i thought cause the heat shield was pretty loose and i had the parts ordered before the rattle came

 

could it be comming from under the car, like a sway bar, or maybe something to do with the engine mounts. I can only think that something is loose. But without being there and hearing it, its impossible to troubleshoot

 

Jons right, maybe a Youtube video? Of the engine bay?

 

even a video doesnt give us an idea of from where, and what type of rattle, only what it sounds like.

 

ill try to get a decent video of it, IMO its coming from the motor like right in the center, ive let a couple other ppl listen to it and they said its right in the center but then there were a couple that said they didnt think so, the first thing i was told that i stated earlier was the ignition coil, then i was something about bearings that have to do with the timing chain then i was told camshaft bearing caps were probably wore down or broke
