Engine swap?

RE: Engine swap?
Depends on what you want done far as parts and labor, I quoted rcj9186 5g's for just parts, but that was for a motor that would support 300 hp like it was nothing. Then again you can get a compleat bottom end that would handle up to 30psi(the hg blows around here depending on the TQ on the head bolts and type of hg) for 2400(core not included). Then again it depends on what you wnat. If you only want to run 10 psi, just get the car re ringed for 400 bucks(cots of kit) and dont worry about it. IF you wnat to go bit your looking at some cash.

err... 10 will get you to 200, so 15 ish, also depends on bolt ons, but 15 proly do you good. At the minimum you need to get a fully built bottom end, pistons rods rings bearings, stage 2 turbo kit, mbc, upgraded bov, full 3 inch exaust, injectors, safc, and a clutch.

Well i have a custom borla exhaust on it. And an air intake. A bottom end rebuild, how much will that push me? Right now i have a blown head gasket and am taking my heads to get shaved and checked. Should i tell the guy to do anythign else since im gonna be there?

RE: Engine swap?
well their are n/a rebuilds and boost rebuilds. If your going to boost the car your going to want to lower the compression which will make the car slower n/a, and you wouldent get any gain untill you turbo the car. Where if you were making a n/a car you would raise the compression making the car faster. But the gains over raised compression n/a motor and low compression turbo motor are like the differences between a dodge caravan and a mustang gt... in a nut shell if you want to boost the motor get a bottom end rebuild, howellautomotive.com sells a whole kit for 1000, other wise dont worry about it.
