I have a 2.0 96 eclipse and I have a freind that wrecked his 96 2.4 galant i can get his motor because its still good but i dont know if it will fit in my car. or should i just get a turbo of another eclipse from a junk yard?

 

if your car is a gs or and rs you will need more than just the motor. you will need the ecu and the harnness. also if it is a gs or rs you will need a gst/gsx ecu harness with the turbo. if you already have a gs-t/gsx you might need the ecu and harness out of the 2.4. im not sure if switching from a 4g63 to a 4g64 requires a ecu swap but i do know that 420A to 4g63/4g64 dose.

 

I'd say that if he's doing the swap he should say screw it and grab the harness and ECU whether he needs it or not. He will need the ECU no matter what but the harness he may or may not need. I'd say get it and compare or just to be safe swap the harnesses in (If he has the time to do it) that way you KNOW it'll work when you plug it in.
