so it looks like that time is finally here. i'm gonna be dropping the engine and transmission into the gsx on friday while i have the day off... i have all of the bolts and everything is ready to get dropped in, but there are some things that i know are missing on the block but i'm not sure what they are... first, on the rear of the block there seems to be a lot of bolt holes where i know bolts should go into and im assuming some sort of brackets or something, what is this for? i have the same on the front. i'm sure at least one person on this forum knows what im talking about... can anyone lend a hand?

 

If you could get a picture I would be able to give answers.

 

k here's the pics, i circled just about all of the ones i dont know about in red... i know some are for the dipstick and the water pipe, but i dont know the others, so if you could just label every hole for me, thank ya! the top pic is obviously the front of the engine, and the second obviously the rear.

 

I see the one for the water hose, and the part that connects to the radiator pipe.... and IDK what else.

aha! sweet, i was wondering if it was mostly for the a/c or not. well that's great that puts my mind at ease so i appreciate it. looks like nothin's stoppin it from all goin on in friday afternoon. i'll be making a video and taking pictures of all it and i'll keep ya guys updated

I was right the first time. The top set of holes IS for the PS pump and the lowers (bottom left) ARE for the dip stick.

ok well now my next question is "why is my transmission so much different than this guys picture ^^?? i got everything bolted up today and even set the motor in the car, but the transmission is bolting up to the engine really strangely and now that i see that picture i'm thinking that gary from mitsugraveyard sent me the wrong tranny. now i have a 6 bolt motor, and i was told that i have to use a 2g tranny cause of the motor mounts, but my tranny looks way different than that guys and it doesnt fit the same... here's a couple of pics



maybe it's cause that dude tranny is an auto?? i dunno, but something just doesnt seem right here... am i missing something?

all-in-all, the engine is in the car, now it's time to start connecting everything and gettin it runnin
